This one-of-a-kind ceramic vase is raku fired, a process that leaves behind unpredictable, organic markings in deep black and copper tones. No two pieces can ever be the same.
Hand-built without molds, the form is intentionally simple and grounded, allowing the surface to carry the story — smoky, metallic, and almost geological in texture. Depending on the light, the surface shifts from matte black to warm copper flashes.
This piece works beautifully as a standalone sculptural object or with a minimal arrangement.
Each stage of the process is done by hand — forming, drying, firing, and the raku reduction — which is what gives the piece its character and depth.
Please note: this piece is decorative and not watertight.
Dimensions:
Height: 8 3/4"
Details:
– Handmade ceramic vase
– Raku fired
– One of a kind
– Material: clay
This is a piece about process and transformation — where fire, air, and timing leave visible traces on the surface.
Each piece is made by hand in my Los Angeles studio. Due to the unpredictable nature of the raku firing process, variations in tone, surface, and form are inherent and make every piece entirely unique.
